Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Freetown Court No 2 has on Wednesday committed one Ibrahim Mansaray to the high court for proper trial after establishing that the accused has a case to answer on a charge of murder contrary to law.

It could be recalled that, the accused Ibrahim Mansaray on a date unknown between 1st to 3rd August at №44 Lower Pipeline, Smart Farm, Off Wilkinson Road allegedly murdered Massah Kai Kai, a 40-year-old American citizen born of Sierra Leonean parents.

It is also alleged that the accused Ibrahim Mansaray buried the human body of the victim in a place other than a cemetery.

The accused also allegedly stole a number of properties from the deceased valued at Le12,285,000.

It is alleged that the 2nd accused Bashiru Mahoi on a date between 1st to 31st August, received one Apple Ipad with inscription Mme Kaikai valued at Le5,500,000, knowing the same to have been stolen or obtained under circumstances which amount to felony or misdemeanor.

Prior to the committal, the first accused Ibrahim Mansaray was further cross-examined by A.R Fisher on the complained he made to the Office of the Ombudsman that he was beaten and put under gunpoint for him to answer to the allegation of murder.

The accused who was not represented by a solicitor denied most of what he had earlier told police and what witnesses had told court.

The accused told the court that he knows Massah Kaikai is not dead because the last time he had cause to see her there was nothing wrong with her.

After the matter was committed, the 2nd accused Bashiru Mahoi was granted bail, while the 1st accused Mohamed Mansaray was remanded at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Centre until the matter comes up at the high court.

It could be recalled that, Ibrahim Mansaray, the driver boyfriend of late Massah Kaikai, had confessed killing his partner during a fight resulted from a quarrel, according to the police.

Mansaray was arrested on two occasions and released after he claimed that he did not know the whereabouts of the deceased, and that Massah earlier told him that she will be travelling out of the country on business trips, but Sierra Leone Immigration Department had no record of Massah leaving Sierra Leone on any flight or across any land border. But certain evidences warrant the police to further investigate and arrest Ibrahim Mansaray for the third time.

The police accessed the call log of the accused throughout and they were able to go through calls that were made by the suspect to two ladies, one of the ladies admitted to have asked by the suspect to meet one of his friends, Mohamed Conteh to help him with pickaxe and shovel.

Conteh was traced by the police and admitted to have asked by the suspect to bring to the resident of deceased the items, and the suspect asked him to help dig a hole at the side of the compound which he did.

With the help of Conteh, the police dug the remains of the deceased at a spot in the compound where a banana tree was growing.

Massah Kaikai went missing sometime between 4th — 8th August 2018, and has not been seen or heard from since. Prior to her disappearance, Massah was in touch with her mother and two sisters in the US every other day. But, neither family nor friends have heard from her since then.

Massah Kaikai returned to Sierra Leone in 2014 to work on development projects with women, the disabled community and children. She set up a small business and made connections with local NGOs and funders.
