Sierra Leone News: Accused Remanded for Wounding

The Presiding Magistrate of the Pademba Road Court №2, Marke Ngegba has on Monday October 21, 2019, remanded one Mohamed Kargbo who was indicted on three counts of wounding, wounding with intent and assault.
It is alleged that the accused on Sunday September 16, 2019, at the New Model Hillside Road wounded Jonathan Kaiganeh in a manner thereby occasioning him grievous actual bodily harm.
The complainant, Jonathan Kaiganeh in his testimony said that on that day, he met the accused at the Model New Road quarrelling which led him to call on the accused and gave him some piece of advice.
He said the accused ignored him and he had to move away from the scene.
Kaiganeh added that on his way going, the accused picked up a stout bottle and hit him at the back of his head. He said after he had been hit by the accused, he became unconscious and fell on the ground.
He said while he was lying on the ground the accused took the broken bottles and inflicted wounds on his ears, neck and hands which left him in severe pain as blood was oozing out from the wounds.
He added that he was taken to the Connaught Hospital by some friends where he was administered some first aid treatments to heal the wounds.
He said that the accused was taken to the East End Police Station where he made a report about the incident.
The matter was prosecuted by A.S.P Hawa Bah, and the accused was not represented by a lawyer.
The matter was adjourned to Monday October 28, 2019, while the accused was still remanded in custody.
