Sierra Leone News: ITS Partners with SLeCAD to Boost Local Farmers

Innovative Technology Solutions (ITS) has partnered with the Sierra Leone Chamber for Agricbusiness Development (SLeCAD) to bring organic, affordable, and highly effective fertilizer (Envirolozer) and animal feed additive, Zeosen to local famers to increase their yields and put more monies into their pockets.

The Head of Operations of Innovative Technology Solutions, Gbenga Funlayo-Badejo told a news conference in Freetown on Tuesday that, the Envirolizer is an organic fertilizer which was approved by the European Commission.

He said Envirolizer boosts crop yield by 30 to 70 percent and quality, prolongs freshness of crops, shortens the vegetation period, protects crops against antifungal, improves organoleptic qualities and coloration, prevents post-harvest losses, improves resistant against diseases; significantly increases the dry matter content in fruits and vegetables, tastes better and increases in healthy nutrient contents.

He said that food additive, Zeosen could be used for all animals including livestock, poultry and fish.

He said that Zeosen increases performance and improves quality of livestock, poultry and fish meat; enables faster and healthy growth of farm animals, and reduce oxidative stress and disease.

Funlayo-Badejo said that their products are affordable and they are highly effective. He said they are working with the SLeCAD ensure that the products are available across the country.

He said that his company has also provided high quality seeds of cucumber and pepper to farmers in Sierra Leone.

The Executive Secretary of SLeCAD, Ahmed Nanoh said that it is that mandate of SLeCAD to promote and increase private investment in the agriculture sector; facilitate, coordinate and organize activities of all farmers; and to ensure the achievement of agro-industrialization, food security and wealth creation in Sierra Leone.

He said that their partnership with Innovative Technology Solutions is in line with their mandates. He said that the products of ITS have been tested and proven to be highly effective. “We are fully in support of these products. These are the best products for our farmers,” Nanoh said.

He said that that the products will improves yields, put more money in the pockets of farmers and create more jobs.
