Sierra Leone News: Africell Supports SWASAL to Cover Liberia V Sierra Leone clash

Sierra Leone’s leading mobile telecommunication operator, Africell has on Monday September 2, 2019, supported the Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone (SWASAL) to give full press coverage in 2022 FIFA World Cup preliminary round first leg between Lone Stars of Liberia and Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.

The two nations will go face-to-face at the Samuel Kao Doe Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia on Wednesday September 4, 2019, and for Sierra Leoneans across the country to have a feel and follow the encounter live from Liberia, the telecommunication giant made a timely dash to enable SWASAL members to deliver full commentary of the said encounter.

Also as part of the Mobile Company’s, Afriradio SL will offer their station as the hub for full commentary to be linked with other radio stations in the country.

According to Eku Lake, Africell’s Communications Manager, they are delighted to work the Sports Writers Association to continue their support towards sports in the country and football in particular. He said that their support was to enable all Sierra Leoneans who did not travel to Liberia to feel, follow and witness the game from wherever they are.

The Manager of AfriRadio, John Konteh, said Africell is committed to promoting sports in the country, adding that Africell has been sponsoring various youths in various spheres and Sierra Leoneans, he maintained, follow football with their hearts and resources and in order to bring them closer, that was why Africell embraced SWASAL to give the people of Sierra Leone what they love and not to be left in the dark about their darling Leone Stars.

Secretary General of the Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone, Sahr Morris Jr thanked the Mobile Company for their timely intervention, adding that SWASAL is pleased with such support and the concern for Sierra Leonean footballing loving fans to have the best of reportage, and commentary of their national team performance in the Wednesday’s match.

The Association financial Secretary, Mohamed Konneh, who also applauded the Africell support, wished that the new partnership between the Association and the Company will continue.
