Sierra Leone News: Construction Company to Provide Scholarships to Deserving Student

Blue Line Construction and Investment (S/L) Ltd Company, situated in the East End of Freetown, is set to boost significant number of eligible students that are attached to approved and accredited colleges across the country, with at least 50% payment of tuitions, senior official said.

Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, The Chief Executive Officer of Blue Line Construction and Investment (SL Ltd) Company, Mohamed Fornah said that in their Quest to Contribute to national development his company will Disburse Le 6.5 Billions on the nationwide financial assistance, which he said will commence in the first Semester next academic year.

Fornah said that the substantial amounts are intended to be disbursed by segments based on the number of students that will meet the set criteria for students ranging from Teacher Training College and universities in the country. He added that “A whole lot of selection criteria will be conducted so that the actual beneficiaries deserve such a compassionate offer.”

He disclosed that some of the institution that are to be benefited from the forthcoming tuition payment are Fourah bay College (FBC), Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), Njala University, University of Markeni (UNIMAK)in the North, Milton Margai College of Education and Technology (MMCE & T) among others.

He clarified that no specific number of students will be targeted in these scholarships and stressed that they are very sensitive to gender parity as empowering female has always been his dream over the years.

He said “Blue Line is well known for the free bus services they are rendering to school going pupils and students in the Freetown municipality at present, but we are rendering quite a good number of humanitarian services gearing towards the socioeconomic developments of Sierra Leoneans.”

“We are tirelessly working on strategies to extend our free transportation to Bo, Kenema and Makeni and other district headquarter towns will be boosted in subsequently as well.”

He said that Blue Line Construction and Investment Company is a private owned company which both private and government schools are currently benefiting from with the provision of free bus services.
