Sierra Leone News: Mile 91: Eight in Custody for Vandalism

Eight young people are being held in custody by the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) for allegedly vandalising an entertainment complex in the Mile 91 community.
According to report, the newly constructed G-Complex Entertainment Centre situated at the heart of Mile 91 in the north/east of the country was attacked in the early hours of Sunday July 21, 2019, by a group of irate youths residing in that community. It is alleged that the youths destroyed and vandalised the service delivery board and other property within the entertainment facility worth millions of Leones.
Police in Mile 91 are yet to ascertain what is responsible for the violent act that led the youths to vandalise the G-Complex. It is reported that the management of G-Complex Entertainment Complex, in a bid to prevent crime, instituted a policy of searching club goers before gaining access into the club premises. According to trusted sources, on that fateful day, a particular group of youths who had gone to enjoy themselves in the club, refused to be searched.
According to the Local Unit Commander (LUC), Mile 91 Police Station, Superintendent Marco Sesay, the eight youths were rounded-up by police from their various homes after they were identified with the aid of a Close Circuit Television (CCTV) camera planted within the facility.
Following the replayed and screening of the CCTV, their faces were captured and easily identified by people who know them before they were arrested by the police, Supt. Marco Sesay, LUC Mile 91 Police Station said.
The LUC said, he has been in touched with the Regional Police Commander North, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Ambrose Michael Sovula, who is contemplating on transferring the matter for further investigation to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Freetown.
