SIERRATL’s Marketing Director: Albert Bangura-Will making his presentation at the Police Officers Mess in Kingtom, Freetown

Officials of the Sierra Leone Telecommunications Company (SIERRATEL), have on Wednesday July 24, 2019, presented its products and services portfolio to the Executive Management Board (EMB) of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Force.

Recently, SIERRATEL strengthened its partnership with the SLP by committing to install 20 landline phones to support the communications strides of the police.

In an effort to deepen the partnership, the management of the SLP invited SIERRATEL officials to market their products and services in their EMB meeting held at the Police Officers Mess in Kingtom, Freetown.

SIERRATLE’s Director of Marketing, Albert Bangura-Will said his institution provides Information Communications and Technology (ICT) services at competitive and affordable cost in Sierra Leone.

He said SIERRATEL has the fastest and most reliable internet service in the country, adding that the company prides itself for bringing into the country the first 4GLTE which has drawn so much commendations from its users.

“Having committed to install 20 landline phones for the SLP, as part of our partnership and collaboration, we will soon embark on surveys to install the lines in this pilot phase,” he said

On the landline service, the marketing director said, “This is an advanced and modernised Landline service that is powered by the fiber optic and has a speedy internet option called ADSL.”

He enticed the SLP to possibly consider taking up fiber to the premises for improved quality service delivery in the security sector and for seamless and timely response, adding that it is about time for the SLP to be a smart and connected force. He also underscored that a good number of institutions have already signed up to SIERRATEL’s Direct fiber connectivity and are benefiting from stable and reliable connectivity.

Mr Bangura-Will concluded by informing the EMB meeting that SIERRATEL, in its transformation strides, will be working towards rolling out FTTH (fiber to the Home). The FTTH, he discussed, will seamlessly provide Triple Play Services, which comprises voice calls, internet and TV/Video.

In His remarks, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Sahr Marka said SIERRATEL’s presentation on its products and services serves an eye-opener about the transformation that has taken place in the institution.

“In this modern age of telecommunications, the use of internet and its connectivity cannot be overemphasised,” he stated.

Inspector General of Police, Dr. Richard Moigbe, said few days ago, he read a newspaper headline, which states that “SIERRATEL is in coma”, noting that the presentation that was done by the marketing director shows that SIERRATEL is alive and kicking and will be sustainable going into the foreseeable future.

“I want to state here that you would be a strategic partner to the Sierra Leone Police and to also profoundly thank you for the landline phones, which we would use to further deepen partnership,” he said.
