Sierra Leone News: ‘Too cold’ in Sweden for Sierra Leone’s Musa Noah Kamara
By Desmond Tunde Coker
Sierra Leone forward Musa Noah Kamara has had his contract with Swedish club Trelleborgs cancelled after just one week.
The club simply stated that the 19-year-old’s three-and-a-half year deal was ended for “personal reasons”.
“He wishes to return to his home country for personal reasons,” Trelleborgs said in a statement on their website.
Kamara went on to explain that he wanted to return to Freetown as he could not cope with the cold weather in Sweden.
He finished as the top goal scorer of 2019 Sierra Leone Premier league with 15 goals to help East End Lions emerge as champions.
With regards the issue, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has summoned an emergency player’s status committee meeting between representatives of AlK (Sierra Leone) and East End Lions. SLFA said in a statement that the primary aim is to secure the well-being of its players and to protect the integrity of the game.
The statement further stated that the FA will seek to investigate and resolve this matter within 48 hours.
Meanwhile, Musa Tombo upon his arrival in Freetown will be received at the airport by officials of SLFA who will assume the responsibility of the player until a decision has been announced by the Status Committee.
