Dogan Bey Power Ship with the capacity to produce 162 megawatt for Freetown and its surroundings will return in December, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Karadeniz Powership, said on Friday.

Kandeh Sesay said that the return of the ship is based on contractual agreement between the Karadeniz Powership Company and the government of Sierra Leone. The ship left the shores of Sierra Leone territorial water in July.

According to the PRO, the Goktay Bey Powership, which replaced the Dogan Bey Powership, is currently generating 36 megawatt of electricity until the return of the Dogan Bey in December. Goktay Bey powership is presently anchored around the Oil Refinery in Cline town.

“The Goktay Bey Powership will be complemented by Bumbuna hydro electricity as there is sufficient level of water since we are presently in the raining season,” he said.

He said that Karadeniz Powership is in good contractual term with the government of Sierra Leone, as there is no misunderstanding as opined by social media, noting that Karpowership is not only in operation in Sierra Leone but in other part of the globe.

Karpowership is the only owner operator and builder of the First Powership (Floating power plant) fleet in the world and plays an active role in medium and long-term investment with more than 2,500 employees globally?

The PRO said that Karpowership has a proven track record of supplying sustainable, reliable and affordable electricity with it entire power fleet

He assured the general public that there will be uninterrupted supply of electricity in Freetown and its environs by Goktay Bey which is complemented by Bumbuna hydro.
