Sierra Leone News: SLAA Ends Coaching Seminar for 23 Coaches

The Sierra Leone Athletics Association (SLAA) has ended a two-day strategic development athletic coaching seminar for coaches across the country. The seminar which started on Tuesday was held at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.
The training was geared towards improving the skills and knowledge of athletes and coaches with support from the United Kingdom Instructor Prince Duwai, a Sierra Leonean born.
The training was also to prepare the coaches for national and International competitions.
The Technical Director of SLAA, Coach Harold Leigh-Palmer admonished participants to take the course serious, as it will help them in running their various clubs during trainings.
The Deputy Director of Sports, Mr. Lambert Sesay registered the commitment of Sports Ministry to supporting the Associations He admonished them to work hard bring the lost glory.
President of the Sierra Leone Athletes Association who doubles as the Vice President of National Olympic Committee (NOC), Abdul Karim Sesay congratulated participants for gaining new knowledge on athletics. “We will continue to bring more experts to teach our athletes and coaches within the country on the laws,” he said.
