Sierra Leone News: Student alleged of wounding granted bail

A 28-year-old Fidel Martin, a student who alleged wounded one Matilda Adebisy Nicol, was on Wednesday August 28, 2019 granted bail in the sum of Le 50 million by Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Court №2, in Freetown.
The accused was arraigned on two counts of wounding contrary to section 20 of the Offence against a Person’s Act 1861 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
It was alleged that, the accused on Thursday July 25, 2019, at №28 Cockle Bay, Off Aberdeen Road, Freetown maliciously wounded Matilda Adebisy Nicol in a manner thereby causing her actual bodily harm. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Ngegba granted the accused bail in the sum of Le 50 million and one surety in like sum. The surety must be employed and resident in Freetown. The bail must be approved by the deputy acting Registrar.
The matter was prosecuted by Sergeant 8998 M.K Taylor and was adjourned to September 12, 2019.
